Support Smakk
Ahhhh...there's nothing quite like the support from friends and family when you really need it. So last Tuesday, the day after Memorial day, I decided it was time to start trimming down some of this fat Smakk ass gut I've been developing. I just haven't been able to get consistency back into my running or workout routine so it came down to the other option - diet. Now I've never been a fan of any of these bullshit fad diets that come around every year, so basically I decided to limit myself to only 1500 calories max per day of food intake. (Note - I said food intake. No comments on the calories in the Capt are necessary.) I figure I've been averaging about 2500+ a day before that. So I go Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at only about 1200 calories a day and what do you know when I weigh in on Saturday morning? I've already dropped 7lbs. So I tell the Bunny this great news and in her ever supportive cheer she responds with, "I have a buy one, get one free enchilada plate at Dos Rios tonight. Can we go?" Well they were good enchiladas....
So now this week, I pick right back up on Sunday with plan. All week long I've been keeping still around 1200 calories per day. Even Big Wu seems impressed and jumps on the bandwagon with his own calorie plan. So this morning I hit the scales again and I'm down about 11 lbs in total over the almost 2 week period. So the first email I see when I get into work this morning from the Wu-ster himself, "Hey. Let's all go have dinner tonight at Babe's tonight before the movie." Really Babe's? Famous for their great fried chicken, chicken fried steak and down home (aka lots of butter) country sides all served homestyle. Mutha fucka... I'm sure we'll have to stop at Marble Slab on the way home tonight too.

Carrot Smakk
So I started off the morning with a nice little walk with Carrot to get the juices flowing. Once we get a bout 1/2 mile from house, I hear a "clink". I look down and see Carrot's chain collar lying on the ground and his leash is just draped over his back not connected to anything. For those unaware of the neurotic Carrot, we really not one to be trusted off the leash evident by the countless nights spent combing the neighborhood when he escapes during parties at Club 6850. So with surprising luck, I gently squat down and put my hands around him and he doesn't even try to bolt away. Now what? He has no collar and just tying the leash around his neck seems a little cruel. Knowing I can't trust him to follow me home especially with no ID tags on him any longer, it comes down to the final choice. Yep, I scoop up the neurotic 4o pound mongrel and carry him back home in my arms like some kind of gigantic Chihuahua. I'm sure the neighbors were amused...

Hot Smakk
Mother of pearl - the summer has come into town with a vengeance. Hot, hot, hot baby. Had a 5+ hour golf round yesterday with Loops, Los & LRod aka Thunda at Bear Creek. Well the Thunda wasn't roaring and I was able to score my 2nd victory in a row on the fairways. The Thunda still thinks I was getting help from the brown bunny that kept following us around from Hole 11. No, I'm not referring to the brunette cart girl, but an actual little cotton tailed critter that decided to join Smakk's gallery for the victorious round. Little guy finally lost interest around Hole 16 when he found another bunny to start banging right there in front of the tee box. He unfortunately didn't get much time after Los's shank almost plugged his ass with a Pinnacle.

Not sure if even playing in the 90 degree heat was the smartest idea since I've been battling a head cold since Tuesday. What's the saying? Starve a fever, feed a cold, drown a cat, kick a bunny, etc, etc. Oh well - I'm just gonna try a drink my way to healthiness later tonight with a nice little Sunday sail. Time to go back out and hit the pool. My body has just yet begun to scorch...
