Lent Smakk
Although I am not Catholic, I have decided to make my 40 day sacrifice and give up something for Lent this year. I wish I could take credit for this but I actually heard it on the radio while driving in this morning. So for this year's Lent, I will give up on my New Year's Resolution. So it looks like I can start adding more ice back in my Captain...

Dark Ages Smakk
The Dark Ages usually refer to a couple different periods of time for most of us. One is the historical period between the fall of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance. This is the time period that is often representative of role playing games or fantasy films with it’s collections of knights, wizards, dwarfs, etc. Another definition for the dark ages could be a more personal time in someone life when you were engaged in activities that you are now embarrassed or ashamed to be associated. Of course for myself, these two definitions collide into one. Let me explain…after watching the film “Role Models”with the scenes about the geeks that play in dark ages role model battles, this conversation breaks out with the Bunny:
Bunny – “That was funny but what was with all the stupid fake sword fighting stuff?”
Smakk – “People really do that. They get all dressed and go out in the woods with foam swords and bow n arrows and have those battles.”
Bunny – “What??! People do not do that for real.”
Smakk - “Yeah, I even did that stuff when I was like 12. Dress up, sword and shield…everything.”
Bunny – ****crickets****
Of course it only took a few days for this information to leak out to the Crew so here’s a sampling of some of the texts I received yesterday from Big Wu & LRod:
Who’s you #1 knight? Sir Lancelot or Robin Hood Men in Tights
Did you find Excalibur?
Okay Arthur, if you want we can take you to Medieval Times to stroll down memory lane.
You ever slay any dragons in those woods?
Where’s the Holy Grail?
Knight of the Round Table – find Excalibur.
Gallum called and wants his ring back.
Why do I feel that now we will all be visiting the Renaissance festival this year…

Mudbug Smakk
There are few things more enjoyable than sitting down in front of a giant bowl of boiled crawfish with a nice big draft beer. The Bunny & L helped me suck down a few pounds of this good stuff last night at Pappadeaux while Big Wu skipped the mess to work on his fried seafood platter. (On a side note - it was very amusing when the waitress brought out Wu's meal on 2 seperate plates to make it look like the panda doubled up on his dinner order.) There is something just animalistically wonderful about ripping off the heads of those mini lobsters and tearing into the juicy tails of sweet meat. And it's not often I can even talk about juicy tails of sweet meat without getting in trouble by the Bunny...
