Comedy Smakk
Tonight I am catching the Artie Lange & Friends comedy concert with Big Wu & Scott M. With this Dallas heat, rising gas prices, slowing economy and realization that I am really married, I need a night of laughter. (Luckily I'm planning the post to be viewed by the Bunny after I depart for the evening.) A little liquid accompaniment should also help with the humor so I'm predicting a good time.
My only question - Collin Quinn is still around? I know the man has done some things but I still only think of him as Ken Ober's sidekick from the greatest game show of all time, MTV's Remote Control. Adam Sandler and Dennis Leary in recurring walk-in parts, and the forever hot Kari Wuhrer as the hostess. That was great TV.
So enjoy your nights tonight you kids...and watch out for the laughing goateed man smelling of Captain...

Power Outage Smakk
Club 6850 lost power today for a couple hours while storms were pounding the area, so it started heating up a little with the AC out.
Smakk - "It's starting to warm up in here."
Bunny - "Yes it is. Maybe I should open a window?"
Smakk - "Why don't you just turn on the ceiling fan?" (snicker, snicker)
Bunny - "Oh yeah. Ok."
She gets up and walks all the way over to the wall switch before the light bulb in her own head goes off. "Ughh. Whatever."
Bunnies are so fun to play with....

Busy Smakk
This weekend was jammed packed with activity in Smakk-land. Started off with a quiet Friday night at Club 6850 until Wu & L made a nice impromptu visit. The Captain started flowing and we packed up some flasks to head out to the late showing of The Happening. I can only say that the first 3 quarters of the movie were pretty good but the ending is a little blurry since my flask was empty and my bladder was about to explode. Wu & I had a nice dash for the bathrooms as the credits started.
Saturday started off with a nice 3 mile jog and then off to Riverside GC for a free morning round of 18 holes with Wu & LRod. Shot a sad 91 after falling apart on the last few holes as the heat index started getting towards the triple digits. Later that evening, the Bunny & I had dinner with Wu & L at Landry's in the West End. After the meal, we all headed down to the AAC to take in the Desperado's game. Gwedo & Dangerous D joined up with us around the second quarter. I highly recommend arena football for all of those that have not seen it. It's kinda like minor league baseball combined with roller derby. Though my favorite moment in the game was when the Bunny went to refill on beers and she was book ended by Gwedo & Dangerous. It looked like Avril Lavigne with her bodyguards going up the aisles.
I skipped the morning jog on Sunday as the Bunny was out at White Rock Lake putting in her 14 miles. Once she got back, we headed out to Lake Lewisville to get in some boat time with Sosa & Jenny From The Block. The heat was blazing but the lake water felt good as we all floated around and played a 2 hour marathon round of the Name Game. After the lake, the Bunny & I refilled up the flasks and hit the evening matinee of The Hulk. Much better version than last Hulk flick, and I remember the whole movie this time. Went back to Club 6850 after the movie for homemade crab & ricotta stuffed shells for dinner and continued to sail the night away from my chair.
Good weekend overall - fun in the sun, friends & food, summer blockbusters, and still got some quality time with the Captain. Not to mention some aerobics with the Bunny ;)
