Press Smakk
I think this may be one of the most uncomfortable situations I have seen lately. I'm watching a press conference that is being held by a new football coach of some small division college. The coach gives his whole speech about being happy to be there, how he will be turning around the team, loves the new school & community, blah, blah, blah...and so on. So after about 15 minutes of letting this guy drone on with his story, he finishes up and hands the mike back to the moderator. So the moderator turns to the crowd of reporters in the room and says, "We can now take any questions from the crowd." And then...crickets. Not one reporter asks anything. Moderator again asks, "Does anyone have any questions for the coach?" More silence from the crowd. Moderator then says, "Ok. Well that will conclude the press conference for today." The coach literally lowers his head and walks off a stage. Awwwwkwardddd...

Mist Smakk
The Bunny & I watched the movie "The Mist" last night at Club 6850. Though I'm not one to usually enjoy the whole cheesy horror *spoiler alert* giant insect monster type flicks, I have to admit that I was mildly entertained by this one. Of course, sailing with the Captian during the whole movie probably didn't hurt things either. Though the Bunny & I disagreed on the ending (I liked, she hated), I would actually recommend this DVD if you just desire a couple hours of non-thought prevoking entertainment. I mean, it's a lot better than the whole "why don't we just sit on the couch and talk to each other" alternative. That was a close one...

Top 5 Giant Monster Insect flicks:
5. The Lost World (1960)
4. Mimic
3. Starship Troopers
2. Them! (1954)
1. Cloverfield (maybe was a bug - close enough)

Eufaula Smakk
Over the weekend, Big Wu, L, GudGirl, the Bunny & I all took a road trip together up to the buzzing metroplex of Eufaula, OK for the reception of the recently wed Yotts. The reception was fantastic especially since we went through over 900 bottles of Corona, Bud Lime & Landshark and even had a marathon round of beer pong breaking out in a side room. I think the entire population of this lake town stopped by for the free grub and booze at some point. It was a fun night full of dancing, drinking and partying but it was the other small moments of our trip that also stand out as follows:
- Big Wu screaming out "Oh God!" and then becoming a frozen statue of fear in the passenger seat after lowering his car visor to have a giant fake rubber spider come crashing in his lap that the Bunny planted early.
- The pre-party game of charades in the hotel in which my attempt to act out "Captain Hook" looked more like a constipated multiple sclerosis victim having a seizure while being electrocuted. I won't even get into me trying to do the "Cheetah Girls".
- The Bunny taking a slow motion tumble off the bed (with a little foot nudge by Smakk) at our hotel room post party which she went into a full head first roll flip onto the carpet but was able to maintain control of her Miller Lite the entire time. Sorry Bunny. I'm sure the swelling will go away and you can sleep back on your left side again soon.
