My new addiction now that I have stopped sailing with the Captain on weekday evenings is playing Mario Kart on the Wii. It's not just the game itself that is so addictive, but the ability to play online with your friends or just randoms around the world. So far - Buster, Big Wu and WhiteGurl are online with me, and Yott & LRod are only days away I'm sure.
But what I have found is the greatest feature about Mario Kart is the experience when you are done playing. First, you need to spend a couple of hours totally immersed in racing on Kart with your eyes glued to the screen. As soon as you turn off the game, immediately jump in your real car and take a drive through the streets of your on hood. You will be completely amazed at your new NASCAR like abilities as you fly through the streets, swerving and dodging everything in your path. All of a sudden, jumping up on the sidewalk or using the a bridge guardrail as a ramp actually seems like a viable option to pass anyone in front of you. Now I just need a good supply of bananas and turtle shells to start throwing out my window...
